About this event
1) Before Meeting Photo Collection:
At the beginning of the meeting we will display a slideshow of member photos, consisting of the "BMPC" photos that were emailed to Art ahead of the meeting. If you would like to participate, email your photos to Art before Tuesday, March 17 at amliefke@gmail.com .
2) George Joseph’s Presentation on Chiaroscuro Photography: "Creating Drama with Light and Shadow"
Join George Joseph for an exciting training session exploring the powerful photographic technique known as Chiaroscuro.
Chiaroscuro is the art of using dramatic light and deep shadow to create striking, dimensional images. Inspired by classical masters such as Caravaggio and Rembrandt, this technique allows photographers to transform ordinary subjects into compelling works of art.
George's presentation will guide members from basic concepts to advanced techniques, including:
- lighting setups
- camera settings
- composition strategies, and
- editing approaches that enhance contrast and mood.
The session will also include real-world examples showing how a single light source can create stunning visual impact. Whether you photograph portraits, still life, or artistic subjects, you’ll leave with techniques you can immediately apply to your own photography.
3) Note on April Membership Renewals
Those members attending the meeting who will be renewing their membership in April are encouraged to bring a check for $35 made out to Lawrence Kelly. You can also pay in cash.
Those members who will not be attending the meeting and whose membership expires in April are asked to send their $35 check to Kings Park Photography Club, P.O. Box 686, Kings Park, NY 11754-0686.
