February 12th, 2026 Meeting

  • Our meeting began with a round of introductions, since we had a potential new member attending, Hosna.  We all gave a short introduction:  Art, George, Janina, Eric, Karolin, Dorothy, Agnes, Dick, and Jonathan.

  • Next we had what is hoped will become a regular feature of our meetings, the BMPC photo show, a montage of photos submitted by members, who were asked to comment on each of their shots.  BMPC stands for Before Meeting Photo Committee.  Any member can send Art amliefke@gmail.com any three photos before the next 19th meeting.  The photos are projected on the screen for everyone to see.  It works better if a member is present to answer questions, but all member photos are accepted.

  • Art presented a slide show, set to music, of B&W photos of Marilyn Monroe that he colorized.  Although advances in Photoshop are making this easier, it is still an hours-long process. See Art's multimedia video below.

  • The main event of the evening was a presentation by George entitled “Landscape Mindset".  George talked about the importance of light, arriving early at your location, using a tripod, working the scene and other topics. Click here for presentation:Landscape Photography by George Joseph
Note: on March 13th, we will be returning to our usual third Thursday meeting.
The best way to view Art's presentation is in Full Screen.  Click on the icon at the bottom right of the slideshow  to change to Full Screen mode.

Content
The meeting begins with short “business” items, such as group photo shoots or special projects.

Presentations are the focus, usually made by club members.  For example, Kristin did a presentation on wildlife photography;  Alan gave photo tips based on a recent rip; Dick reviewed his photo-journey to Iceland.

Guests are always welcome.
