Dick Chen Honored at Kings Park Day Oct. 23rd

Dick Chen Honored at KP Day Oct. 23rd

Congratulations are in order for our own Dick Chen, whose photos have been selected to inspire and guide a wall mural painting at a local business.

The Kings Park Chamber of Commerce solicited the club for local photos for the project. The Chamber contracted with the Splashes of Hope organization to perform the mural painting.

Dick Chen provided several photographs of our beloved local attraction, the Bluff. Splashes of Hope selected several of Dick’s photos for the design. The design represents the local tradition of KP High School students called "Senior Sunrise and Sunset" at the Bluff each year before graduation.

The design will be "a lighthearted depiction of sunrise blending into sunset with figures of students at the Bluff and various other boats, docks, the island, etc."

Dick will receive full credit for his part in the design and a plaque mounted near the mural thanking Dick for his contribution.

Dick is a retired engineer who has travelled and photographed all over the world as part of his work. He is also a talented and prolific photographer of local sites, as well as being one of the smartest and nicest people you will ever be likely to meet. This is a well deserved honor and wonderful legacy to leave to our community. Thank you Dick!
